The Communities of Northwest Arkansas

The historic trails of the Northwest Arkansas Heritage Trail system pre-date many of today’s community boundaries. These historic trails link the cities of northwest Arkansas in a unique way, connecting them through the historic events of the 19th century.

But these same cities play a very important role in the development of today’s Heritage Trail. Today the cities of Northwest Arkansas are developing greenways, bike paths, walking trails and parks that connect the historic trails. This emphasis on walking and biking and exploring and learning will go a long way to enhance the quality of life in Northwest Arkansas.

The Heritage Trail Partners website does have some information about the trails and paths being developed in the different cities but we urge you to follow the links we have to the individual city websites. The trails and pathways of Northwest Arkansas are in a constant state of development and each city is better equipped to have the latest information, including maps, available.
