Way to go, Partner!

marilyn heifner and governor beebeHeriitage Trail Partner’s own Marilyn Heifner was inducted into the Arkansas Tourism Hall of Fame during the 2007 Governor’s Conference on Tourism held in Hot Springs recently.  Along with being the executive director of the Fayetteville Advertising and Promotion Commission, Marilyn is a founding member of Heritage Trail Partners (HTP), serving as HTP’s first president.

“Marilyn has worked tirelessly to promote Heritage Trail Partners,” said Jackie Crabtree, current HTP president, adding, “Her enthusiasm for preserving local history is a force to be reckoned with!”

Allyson Twiggs, director of the Fayetteville Convention and Visitors Bureau and longtime friend of Heifner, submitted her name for the award. She said Heifner was deserving of the honor. “It’s for people that spend their careers bettering tourism in Arkansas,” Twiggs said. “ We just wanted Marilyn to be recognized for all that she has done. ”

Heritage Trail Partners couldn’t agree more, Allyson!
